Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar on Friday light-heartedly said that he became the deputy CM of Maharashtra twice and wanted the home ministry on both the occasions, but his party’s ‘seniors’ wondered if he should be the chief minister. If the ministry is found, then they will not listen to them. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ajit Pawar made the remarks during a meeting of the NCP’s Pune unit. After that an official said that when the party becomes part of the government in future, he should become the Home Minister. The former deputy CM jokingly said, “Last time, when I was made deputy chief minister, ‘I said ‘make me home minister’, but seniors thought that if the home minister’s post was given to me, I would talk about them. I won’t listen.” Ajit Pawar wanted the Home Ministry, Pawar said that after Anil Deshmukh resigned from the post of Home Minister in April last year, he once again asked the party to give him the Home Ministry, but he did not get the portfolio. Later talking to reporters, the NCP leader said that while addressing the party workers, he had remarked about keeping an eye on the Home Ministry in a light note. Pawar said that to cheer up the party workers in the hall who were looking lethargic and tired, I made this remark jokingly. What did Pawar say on the action on PFI? Along with this, on the raids of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the arrest of more than 100 of its leader-workers across the country, Ajit Pawar said that arrests were made in 12 to 15 states and the maximum was in Kerala-Maharashtra. It seems that keeping in mind the serious things, the central government has decided to raid PFI.
