In Patna, Bihar, the CBI arrested a senior official of the National Highway Authority of India for allegedly taking a bribe. The CGM of the regional office of NHAI has been arrested by the police for accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from two employees of a private company. Along with this, both the employees of the private company who gave the bribe have also been caught. CBI informed that a case has been registered against the CGM of the Regional Office of NHAI in this case. At the same time, the DGM of NHAI has also been made an accused in this case. The officer is accused of demanding bribes from the officials of a private company in Nashik to pay the fake bills shown by them. Not only this, the CBI also raided 8 different places in the case. The CBI has seized cash worth about Rs 60 lakh from these locations of the CGM of NHAI. Apart from this, the search is still going on at the bases. It is being told that NHAI CGM Sadar Alam had demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from a private company in Nashik. The CBI had a tip related to this, acting on which Sadar Alam has been arrested. The CBI team raided the places related to Sadar Alam at 8 places, where during the search 60 lakh rupees were found in cash. CBI has seized them. The search operation of CBI is still going on and many other items are expected to be found. Recently, central investigative agencies like CBI and ED have conducted raids in many cases related to corruption. This includes from ED raids on the houses of Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee in West Bengal to ED action in Jharkhand.
